For a long time now I have been far from consistent when it comes to writing on this site. And by “far from consistent” I mean I hardly do it at all any more.<\/p>\n

A few days ago I finally admitted to myself why that was.<\/p>\n

Why I don’t write as much as before<\/h2>\n

One word: embarrassment.<\/p>\n

The last year has seen my self- and world-views shift dramatically,\u00a0involving a crash of self-esteem followed by its fairly recent restoration.<\/p>\n

One of the victims of this crash was the belief that my writing had any purpose. In-part, I allowed several jibes about my writing\/thinking style to dissolve my self-confidence.<\/p>\n

No longer.<\/p>\n

I realised that I had let slip something I enjoyed doing because I was scared of how I’d be judged. Surely I don’t still suffer from this fear of rejection bullshit? It would appear I do …<\/p>\n

I’m hoping that if I can push myself through the inertia of not writing I can somehow maintain a decent habit.<\/p>\n

We’ll see (it’s taken me 3 days to publish even this post!)<\/p>\n

A nice new website name – Plog<\/h2>\n

Frankly, I’ve never been happy with “Life In Balance” as a website name. It’s always been a bit too “dry” for my liking.<\/p>\n

I also didn’t want to call it “Paul Goodchild’s blog” because that’s drier than a dry shite left in the sun.<\/p>\n

So I’m opting for something that makes little or no sense; something short & sweet; and anything that’s not either of the 2 names already mentioned.<\/p>\n

So now this site called ‘Plog<\/strong>‘ – basically Paulie’s Blog<\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

If you can think of anything better, drop me a comment below – I’d be delighted<\/em> to hear what you think. :^)<\/p>\n

I’m also going to attempt to inject a bit of humour, and care a little less of the readership. Yes, to care less of what you think.<\/p>\n

I made several key realisations about my website:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • I hold back. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But I do it.<\/li>\n
  • I have things I want to talk about and relate. But I don’t say them because there’s either so much to say about them, or I’m afraid I’ll be misunderstood.<\/li>\n
  • I want to express the same humour online, as I have offline. I don’t know how I can do that here, but we’ll see.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    So there you have it. My first post in 2 months.<\/p>\n
